Charlotte and George to star but father has heart op

PRINCE HARRY and Meghan Markle have given Princess Charlotte and Prince George starring roles in the Royal wedding, but doubts remain over who will walk the bride down the aisle.

Kensington Palace has revealed that Harry’s niece and nephew will be among Ms Markle’s six bridesmaid­s and four pageboys on Saturday, but no replacemen­t was mentioned for Ms Markle’s father, who reportedly will not attend as he is due to have a heart operation.

Thomas Markle suffered an apparent heart attack last week and will reportedly undergo surgery in the US on Wednesday.

There has been speculatio­n about is attendance at the ceremony at Windsor Castle following claims that he posed for staged paparazzi photos. The day after the Mail On Sunday reported that the pictures were mocked up, Ms Markle’s father dropped out of the wedding, telling celebrity website TMZ he did not want to “embarrass the Royal family or his daughter”.

Despite her parents divorcing when she was six, Ms Markle has remained close to her father.

Her mother, Doria Ragland, is expected to escort her daughter to St George’s Chapel for the service before swapping places with the bridesmaid­s and pageboys.

Harry’s goddaughte­rs, Zalie Warren and Florence van Cutsem, Ms Markle’s goddaughte­rs, sisters Remi and Rylan Litt, and Ivy Mulroney are the other bridesmaid­s, while Harry’s godson, Jasper Dyer and twin brothers Brian and John Mulroney are the other pageboys. Twelve choir boys in the Choir of St George’s Chapel will sing at the wedding. Two of them, Leo Mills, 11, and Nathan Mcharo, nine, said they were “super excited” ahead of the big day.
