Treske invests £200,000 in production technology
INDEPENDENT FURNITURE and kitchen manufacturer Treske has invested £200,000 in new technology to improve the speed and quality of its production process.
The firm, based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, bought a 5 Axis CNC Router in response to its rapidly-increasing order book and demand for its bespoke products for the home.
York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership’s Let’s Grow Fund contributed £40,000 towards the investment,
Justin Bartlett, owner and managing director of Treske, said: “This is one of the biggest investments the company has made since it was formed 44 years ago in 1974. It reflects the growing demand for our products from across the United Kingdom and our confidence in the future, which is fuelled by the improving economic climate and the skills and commitment of our staff.
“It is fantastic that the Local Enterprise Partnership’s Let’s Grow fund has helped Treske to invest in new machinery and processes that gives our furniture and kitchen designers increasing and exciting options for bespoke designs for customers.
“The LEP support is very timely as we look to increase the numbers of customers who buy their quality furniture and kitchens from Treske.
“We have also increased our showrooms in our historic Victorian Maltings building, making Treske a great place to visit for people considering buying furniture and kitchens,” said Mr Bartlett.
The 5 Axis CNC router gives Treske additional capacity and the capability to make more complex designs, increasing the range of bespoke furniture and kitchen options for customers.
Mr Bartlett added: “It is now time to move up through the gears and make Treske the epitome of a 21st century company, whilst maintaining our traditional values of service and craftsmanship. This investment in new machinery, with the support of the LEP, is a resounding endorsement of the progress we have made recently.”
