Rugby stars back World Cup bid

Three stars of rugby league were at the Great Yorkshire Show yesterday to back a bid for the region to play its part in the 2021 World Cup.

Former Leeds Rhinos centre Keith Senior, Leeds Rhinos and England wheelchair captain James Simpson and Bradford Bulls women’s full back Charlotte Booth were at the Welcome to Yorkshire stand, where the Rugby League World Cup trophy was on show. It is expected that up to 40 venues nationally will bid to host games.
