Chicks a hobby for the middle aged

More people are keeping chickens as a hobby, according to a company which was carrying out live chick hatching on the first day.

Incubation specialists Brinsea were at the event with around 20 Vorwerks and 10 Silver Laced Wyandottes due to hatch on Tuesday. Sales worker Fiona Browne said chicken-keeping has increased since bird flu has been in decline, adding that middle-aged people are taking it up as a hobby.
