LIAM FINN has joined Widnes Vikings on loan for the remainder of the 2018 season but will then return to join the Wakefield Trinity first team coaching staff in 2019.

After helping Castleford Tigers reach the Challenge Cup final in 2014, Finn moved to Wakefield Trinity in 2015, becoming an influential figure over the last three seasons.

“Liam has been a fantastic part of this club’s journey over the last three years,” said Trinity chairman, Michael Carter. “I am delighted that Liam has agreed to become a part of our first-team coaching set up.

“This loan move to Widnes allows Liam to play out his final season of Super League rugby. Every Wakefield fan should be grateful to Liam for the part he has played in our recent history.”

Finn added: “I’m excited by the challenge presented by this loan move. Widnes Vikings have had a tough year, so I am looking to help maintain their place in the Super League.”

Hull’s England prop Scott Taylor has signed a new five-year deal which will keep him at the KCOM Stadium until the end of 2023.

The 27-year-old former Hull KR and Wigan front rower was already under contract until the end of the 2019 season but was happy to demonstrate his longterm commitment to his hometown club.

“As soon as the club opened talks about staying here, it was a no-brainer for me,” said Taylor, who has made 81 appearances since joining the Black and Whites for the start of the 2016 season. This is the team that I’ve grown up with. I’ve never been as happy in my career as I am now. I love playing for my home-town club and there is nowhere else I want to be.

“People talk about there being other options out there, but it doesn’t interest me. This is the place that is best for me.”

Hull have also given longserving forward Danny Washbrook a new contract for 2019 and extended prop Josh Bowden’s stay until the end of 2022.

Young Castleford Tigers full-back Calum Turner has penned a new two-year deal at the club, keeping him at Wheldon Road until the end of the 2020 season.

“I’m very happy about my new deal,” said Turner. “I’m just looking to crack on.”
