Drive to cut jams at city road junctions

-

SOME of Bradford’s most congested road junctions will be improved under a multi-million pound programme.

The West Bradford Junctions Improvement Scheme will involve work to three junctions that bring misery to motorists – Carlisle Road/Toller Lane/Whetley Lane; Thornton Road/Cemetery Road; and Great Horton Road/ Horton Park Avenue.

The plans are due to go out to consultation, and will be discussed by a West Yorkshire Combined Authority committee today.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority, which is funding the works through its West Yorkshire Transport Fund, said the changes would “reduce congestion, increase productivity and attract investment”.

Other items on the agenda include a £42m Bradford to Shipley route improvement scheme.
