‘Milestone’ grant for town centre site

HALIFAX: An ambitious plan to transform a town centre site has moved closer to reality, thanks to a £3m donation.

The Northgate premises in Halifax used to be home to council offices and a library but it will now be used for offices and shops at a cost of £10.65m. West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Investment Committee agreed to grant £3m from the Local Growth Fund towards that total. Leader of Calderdale Council, Coun Tim Swift, said the grant was a key milestone.
