Visit to India

THE ARCHBISHOP of York, Dr John Sentamu, will visit a convention of up to 150,000 Christians in southern India this week.

His trip to the annual Mar Thoma Syrian Church Convention, which has its roots in the 19th century, follows a reciprocal visit to York last year.

Dr Sentamu said: “For over seven years I have had a standing invitation to visit, preach and teach at the convention.”
