‘Remorse’ of judge who slept in court

-

LAW: A High Court judge has “expressed remorse” after “momentarily” falling asleep during a hearing.

Mrs Justice Parker, who is based in the Family Division of the High Court in London, was the subject of a complaint to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office (JCIO). A JCIO spokesman said the judge had been given “formal advice” after Lord Chancellor David Gauke and Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett concluded that her conduct may undermine public confidence in the judiciary.
