Laser jammer BMW driver jailed

A BMW driver who used a laser jammer device on the A658 near Harrogate has been jailed for three months.

Michael Twizell, from Dewsbury,West Yorkshire, was sentenced at York Crown Court after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice. The 58-yearold was driving a BMW 3 Series when he passed a police safety camera van last February. The operator detected an error code on the equipment, sparking a police investigation which established that Twizell, who was also fined £1,500, was using the device on the front of his vehicle.
