Simply Divine in creation of tea gin infusion

-

SPECIALITY FOOD and beverage provider Cartwright & Butler has launched a tea infused gin.

The Yorkshire brand’s Darjeeling Infused Parlour Gin has been created as an accompaniment to traditional afternoon tea, made with Cartwright & Butler’s own Darjeeling Tea and Acacia Honey.

The company worked with Yorkshire-based distillery Divine Gin to bring the product into fruition – using spring water sourced from Shepley.

The gin blends eleven botanicals including juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, oris root, and lemon peel.

Nigel Arnett, national sales director at Cartwright & Butler, said: “Our customers remain loyal to us because of the guarantee of unbeatable, delicious, high quality products – and the Darjeeling Infused Parlous Gin will certainly not disappoint.

“Our company’s continuous growth and success comes purely from our passion to make everyday moments special and add a touch of luxury to every occasion.

“We’re incredibly excited about the new launch, and expect the gin to be a huge hit with spirit lovers on the run-up to Christmas.”

A surge in demand for new gin flavours helped inspire the brand’s new Darjeeling Infused Parlour Gin.

Insights from market research consultancy Kantar showed that over a quarter of the population purchased gin in the past 12 months, an increase from 10 per cent in the last four years.

Raymond Woolhead, managing director at Divine Gin, said: “This has been a fantastic project to work on.

“The team at Cartwright & Butler put luxury at the heart of all their products and it was our brief to create a gin that did just that.

“Parlour Gin wouldn’t have been placed in the range if it wasn’t the highest quality gin. This really is a sparkling example of two Yorkshire companies collaborating together.”

Cartwright & Butler was launched in 1981.

In addition to listings in outlets such as Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty of London and Harvey Nichols, the business currently exports to 43 countries worldwide, including to overseas retailers like David Jones of Sydney and Farmers of New Zealand.

Since 2012, Cartwright & Butler’s employee count has increased from 4 to 35.
