Magic Rock promises to replace out-of-date beer stock for pubs

-

MAGIC Rock Brewing is to replace all of its expired beer keg and cask stock new-for-old when pub and bars reopen after the coronavirus lockdown.

While difficult to predict uptake for the scheme with the ongoing impact of lockdown measures, the Huddersfield brewery said it has close to 800 kegs (equivalent to over 40,000 pints) at hospitality venues, including many across the north of England.

Magic Rock will replace all full and un-breached draught beer kegs and casks which are out of date.

These will be replaced with fresh in-date stock in the customer’s next order when they plan to reopen and are ready to trade.

Co-founder and managing director Richard Burhouse said: “Pubs and bars are the beating heart of the community and we’re all too aware of the devastating impact that Covid-19 has had on them.

“We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy strong online sales since the nation went into lockdown and have seen a 4,800 per cent increase in sales versus the same period last year.

“It’s great to know Magic Rock fans are still enjoying our beer at home, but we’re also keen to use our position to support our partner pubs and bars as much as possible and we hope that our beer replacement scheme goes some way to help them get back on their feet when the time comes.”

Magic Rock is also undertaking a number of initiatives as part of a recovery scheme that will hopefully see venues open with minimal fuss, drive additional revenue streams and help staff and customers to stay healthy and safe.

To take advantage of the scheme, pub and bar customers should get in touch with their account manager at the brewery.

Magic Rock said its webshop offers built-in discounts and buying in bulk makes its beers “serious value for money”. Customers can get 10 per cent off six-packs and 15 per cent off full cases, without having to go to the effort of using offer codes.

As a thank-you to NHS workers at this time, it is offering a further 10 per cent off – and free delivery for orders over £40 – to all NHS employees.
