Man charged over ‘left-wing terrorism’

A MAN from Yorkshire will appear at the Old Bailey later this month after being charged with alleged left-wing terrorism offences.

Dominic Noble, from Huddersfie­ld, has been charged with a total of 14 offences following an investigat­ion which was conducted by anti-terrorism police officers.

Noble, aged 32, is facing counts relating to the alleged possession of documents likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism after he was arrested at his home in West Yorkshire last week.

A spokesman for the Counter Terrorism Policing North East unit revealed yesterday that Noble

was arrested on Tuesday last week.

The spokesman added that Noble had been detained as part of an “intelligen­ce-led investigat­ion into suspected left-wing terrorism”.

Noble appeared before Leeds Magistrate­s’ Court yesterday for a 30-minute hearing after he was charged with offences contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act of 2000.

He is facing 13 alleged offences of the possession of documents likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism .

Noble is also charged with one count of allegedly viewing or accessing a document likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Noble, of Hall Cross Grove in Huddersfie­ld, was refused bail by magistrate­s yesterday and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey in London on Friday, June 26.
