Live TV coverage offers plenty of choice for fans of Yorkshire rivals

- LEON WOBSCHALL

FIVE GAMES involving Yorkshire clubs have been designated for live coverage in the Championship’s first batch of televised fixtures – and you can expect more to follow suit in high summer.

Leeds United’s first game after the resumption at Cardiff City will be shown on Sky Sports on Sunday, June 21, with a kick-off time of 12pm.

The Whites’ opening home encounter against Fulham in the revised programme has also been selected for TV coverage six days later on Saturday, June 27.

The following day, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town’s games at play-off candidates Bristol City and Nottingham Forest will also be shown live, along with Hull City’s survival six-pointer against visiting Middlesbrough set for Thursday, July 2.

Boro are one of three relegation rivals who the Tigers will host between now and the end of the season alongside Charlton Athletic and Luton Town.

A midweek Yorkshire derby double-header on July 14 when Leeds welcome Barnsley and Wednesday host Huddersfield possesses the potential for drama on a night when Grant McCann’s team visit fellow bottom-three candidates Wigan.

Leeds’s final away game of the season on July 18 at Derby County – who ended their season in crushing fashion in the play-offs in 2018-19 – has the potential to be a delicious one if they clinch promotion against the East Midlands outfit.

Meanwhile, Boro will be hoping to avoid final-day despair at Sheffield Wednesday on July 22.

They have been relegated twice at Hillsborough on the last day – in 1988-89 and 1992-93.
