Fears for missing vulnerable woman who left home in middle of night

-

FEARS ARE growing for a vulnerable 25-year-old woman from North Yorkshire who vanished in the middle of the night, with police describing her disappearance as “out of character”.

Zoe Zaremba was last seen by her mother at their home in the market town of Bedale as she said goodnight on Saturday. Her mother went to check on her the next day, only to find her gone.

Her daughter’s phone had been left behind and it is thought she had no money or transportation.

Miss Zaremba, who has diagnosed autism, posts on Twitter regularly and with “lots of followers” about her condition, North Yorkshire Police said.

Inspector Sarah Sanderson said that it was extremely out of character for Miss Zaremba to go missing with no contact for such a long period of time, leaving the force very worried for her safety.

“Zoe was last seen at 11pm on Saturday by her mum,” Insp Sanderson said. “When her mum went to see her in her bedroom the next day, she was gone. She is distraught and wants her home.”

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances at present, with officers having swept the area around her home in Aiskew and spoken to all possible contacts. However, Miss Zaremba has not been active on social media as would be normal.

Insp Sanderson added: “Four days is an extremely concerning length of time and raises massive concerns. Although she is 25, she is very, very young to look at and she easily appears to look around 15 to 16.”

Miss Zaremba is 5ft 6in and slim, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with a “Keep Calm” slogan, as well as purple joggers and white and purple trainers.

The force is asking all those who live, work, or pass through the Aiskew area to check CCTV, dashcam footage and doorbell cameras, while residents are also urged to check sheds, outhouses or barns.
