Building ‘left to run down’
OBJECTORS TO the plan to close the Plough Inn have said that it has been left in a poor condition.
In a letter to planners, one objector says the pub near Helmsley has “deliberately and provocatively been left in a disgraceful condition”.
The objector added that the building has been “boarded up and with unsightly security fencing purposely intended to detract from the visual amenity of the village”.
Other objectors, Jarvis and Dorothy Browning, said they would “like to have our village back as to what it was before and everyone would benefit from it”, and the proposals represented “just another nail in the coffin” for the village.
