Greggs rolls out its new delivery service

-

BAKERY CHAIN Greggs’ bakes and baguettes can now be delivered directly to homes and offices across Leeds and Sheffield, thanks to a partnership with Just Eat.

The products are available at the touch of button via the Just Eat app from a number of newly reopened shops. There is no minimum order value to qualify for delivery.

Andrew Kenny, Just Eat UK managing director: “We’re delighted to be Greggs’ exclusive delivery partner and to be able to deliver some joy to loyal Greggs fans and customers, who can now enjoy their favourites from the menu wherever and whenever they want.”

The re-opened Greggs shops in Leeds, where the service is available, are based in Merrion Street, Kirkstall Road, Seacroft and Thorpe Park.

In Sheffield, the service is available at Hillsborough and The Moor.

Greggs reopened 800 of its shops for takeaways on June 18, while the rest of its stores began to gradually get back to work from July 2.

Bosses have slowed plans to open more shops. There are 2,025 Greggs bakeries across the UK.

Speaking last month, chief executive Roger Whiteside said: “Following successive years of unbroken growth, Greggs made a great start to 2020, coming into the year with momentum and clear strategic plans.

“The strength of our business model enabled us to secure the liquidity needed to support our business through the current crisis and then to adapt our operation and strategic investment plans in response to the new environment.”
