McCann tips bright future for teen Tiger

KEANE LEWIS- POTTER might be missing from Hull City’s side this weekend, but Grant McCann is sure of another thing as well.

Namely that he has all the qualities required to go ‘ far in the game’ after his rise to prominence in the amber and black.

City’s joint top- scorer will not be involved in tomorrow’s scheduled League One game with Burton as he is self- isolating in line with Government protocols after being in close contact with his girlfriend who has shown symptoms associated with Covid- 19.

If all goes well, Lewis- Potter, 19, who the club are in talks with regarding a new deal, could be involved in Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy game against Grimsby.

McCann, whose young defender Jacob Greaves has signed a new three- year deal with the option of a further year, said: “He ( Keane) has a great attitude and wants to learn and get better. He is just a goalscorer and loves scoring goals and sniffing out opportunities.

“We have not seen Keane for a few days as he is isolating, but in training, you can just see him wanting to improve in his game.

“He is a humble kid who will go far in the game because of his attitude and the way he presents himself on an everyday level.

“We are delighted to have him.’ Burton are due to travel to Hull despite the squad being severely depleted by Covid- 19.

Six first- team squad members have tested positive, with more self- isolating after being in close contact.

Meanwhile, Tigers keeper George Long returns to McCann’s squad after missing the Trophy game at Harrogate Town after his partner experienced some symptoms associated with Coronavirus.
