GP TAYLOR’s column on Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was a joy to read (The Yorkshire Post, March 9).
Yes, I agree, Meghan is a ‘drama queen’ and courts publicity. How sad they should have chosen this period in time when the Queen has other issues namely, the hospitalisation of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Are they utterly selfish? Is Harry allowing his wife to call the shots?
Keep it up GP. Just love your column.

Surely, as an ex-policeman, he must have taken an oath of allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen, her heirs and successors?
Maybe he had his fingers crossed at the time.

PERHAPS I am deaf or a starryeyed supporter of the monarchy, but I did not hear either Harry or Meghan say a single disrespectful word against the Royal family. True there was more than a hint of a rift between father and son, but this was something Harry wanted to mend. For me, Harry’s most telling remarks were about how terrified the monarchy are of the Press and how they try and placate the Press.

COULD someone please explain to me why Meghan, with the help of her adoring husband, could not have accessed private confidential help for her mental well-being?
They are not youngsters, but two people who are in their mid-30s, he having served in the military, so I would think he possesses a modicum of common sense, and should have acted to support his wife.

THE Sussex/Winfrey interview has certainly created a stir. I chose not to tune into this programme. Having concluded that what I’d gleaned beforehand from various media reports, it was going to be a totally one-sided attack. I think I am proven spot on with this, given what has been reported afterwards. What a shame that the Sussexes didn’t see fit to settle their scores with the Royal family before jetting off to their wonderful life in Los Angeles.

OH dear, what a sad and unclear story emerged during the Oprah Winfrey interview (some recollections may vary, says Buckingham Palace). Whose fault was it that the Duke and Duchess didn’t feel prepared for the changes which occur when people become part of our Royal family? Sadly, they do not seem able to cope.

I AM inclined to agree that television presenters of news and current affairs programmes on television should report on facts and opinions, and conduct interviews, but not introduce their own opinions. To that extent, Piers Morgan was wrong on Tuesday. However, I can’t help feeling that, if he had instead said that he agreed fully with everything Meghan said and that nobody else had a right to question it, there would have been no complaints.
