Our Yorkshire Farm harvests new series after ratings soar
CHANNEL 5 has ordered another 20 episodes of Our Yorkshire Farm after the third series proved a huge hit.
The channel has announced it has ordered a further 20 hourlong episodes of the show from its makers Renegade Pictures.
Our Yorkshire Farm, which features Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen and her husband Clive working on their North Yorkshire farm with their children, became Channel 5’s highest rated factual programme of 2020.
After launching in a new slot at 9pm, more than three million people watched each episode on average, with the final lockdown themed episode hitting 3.7m.
The series, which first aired in 2018, has garnered immense popularity over the years for its heartwarming and honest portrayal of family life in the countryside. Viewers and critics have praised Amanda and Clive Owen’s unique parenting style as they raise their nine ‘‘free-range’’ children on their 2,000-acre remote hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
Daniel Pearl, commissioning editor at Channel 5, said: “Our Yorkshire Farm is such a special programme.
“It’s more than just a heartwarming documentary, it is a deeper exploration of family bonds, parenting styles and the desire among so many of us to live closer to nature. The Owens are a true inspiration and I can’t wait to see what these next two years will bring.”
Natalie Wilkinson, executive producer at Renegade Pictures said: “As a dedicated production team, we are excited to continue developing the delightful storylines and to maintain our production values, which makes it feel like a beautiful, warm family drama, evolving from an observational documentary.”
The news comes as Channel 5 also announced it has signed a two-year deal with Wolfsong Media, agent of the Yorkshire Shepherdess, meaning there could be more shows on the horizon.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the public response to the series and look forward to watching life unfold on the farm over the coming episodes.”
The fourth series of Our Yorkshire Farm will air on Channel 5 in spring 2021.
