Heating firm helps toplant Dales trees

-

A HEATING company has been offsetting carbon through its partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

As part of its pledge to combat climate change, Leeds-based North East Heating Solutions has been supporting tree planting in the Dales for every heating installation it completes.

In the past 12 months, the partnership has planted 89 trees in woodlands including Ormsgill Wood, near Malham.

Company owner Howard Klineberg said he was “incredibly proud” of the achievement.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust’s Woodland Officer Carol Douglas said: “Through our ‘Together for Trees’ campaign we are working with many supporters and partners such as North East Heating Solutions to plant as many trees as we can across the Dales.

“Trees are hugely valuable as a habitat for wildlife supporting some of our most endangered woodland animals, like red squirrels, dormice and cuckoos.

“They are also important for our mental health and wellbeing and we believe that everyone should have access to them.

“The appeal aims to raise funds to create beautiful woodlands that everyone can enjoy for years to come. Our partnership with North East Heating Solutions is one we are proud of and is helping to plant trees across the Dales. We’ll hopefully be able to welcome them to the woodlands they’re supporting later in the year.”

Mr Klineberg said they were looking forward to continuing their support, helping create “beautiful and sustainable woodlands for everyone to enjoy”.
