Guilty pleasure? Cake! I can’t resist the Hummingbird Bakery’s red velvet. Where is home? Manchester. Career plan B? I would’ve studied sports at university and become a PE teacher. Who would play you in a movie of your life? Reese Witherspoon – I love her. But it would probably end up being Barbra Streisand. Biggest bugbear? Anything to do with being late. Wherever I go, I’m always ten minutes early. Earliest memory? Summer holidays in Greece with my family – I was always in the pool. Your best quality? I’m very honest. And your worst? I’m very honest! I’m opinionated and stand my ground – some people see that as a negative. Last meal on earth? My mum’s Sunday roast beef and Yorkshire puds followed by sticky toffee pudding with custard. Dream dinner party guests? Michael McIntyre and Jason Manford to make me laugh, David Beckham and Chris Hemsworth to stare at, and the Queen and Barack Obama to find out what they’ve been up to. Advice to teenage self? Chill out and don’t worry what other people think of you. Secret skill? Baking. As an athlete I can’t go out and get drunk, so I bake instead. I do a good banana bread. What do you see when you look in the mirror? Someone who has worked hard and is very driven. Starstruck moment? Meeting David Beckham at the Military Awards. My friend made me get a picture with him – he was lovely. Career highlight? Winning two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Favourite tipple? Gin and tonic. Hangover cure? Lots of water. What did you have for breakfast today? Avocado and eggs on toast. Top of your bucket list? To travel more. I want to go to Hawaii, Canada and New Zealand. Biggest inspiration? My mum. One thing that would make your life better? More time with my daughter (Summer, one). Philosophy? To work hard and be the best I can be. Perfect day? Waking up with Summer before taking her swimming, then having friends and family over for dinner – and lots of laughs. Last film that made you cry? The Notebook. Where would you time travel to? I’d go 20 years into the future to see how Summer is doing – I want her to be happy and healthy. First record you bought? Something by Boyzone. Favourite book? Anything by Jill Mansell. Biggest extravagance? A pair of black Christian Louboutin peep toes. Biggest regret? I don’t have any. Even the bad stuff has made me who I am today. Style icon? Diane Kruger. Celebrity crush? Chris Hemsworth. Happiness is… Being with my family.
