PROBLEM ‘ It’s tricky to find clothes that are age appropriate and on trend. I might be in my 60s but I still want to be stylish. However, I don’t want to look as if I’m trying too hard, which is why I’ve been reluctant to leave my comfort zone, sticking to jeans and jumpers because they’re a safe bet. When I try to change things up I worry: “Is this me?”’
SOLUTION
Lots of people think looking stylish is really complex, but it’s actually very easy. It’s all about basics:
★ First, never underestimate the power of a white shirt (see last week’s fashion feature on the Mail+ Editions app).
★ Next, a great pair of jeans will keep you looking chic for years. Go for smart, dark washes that’ll take you from day to night and will work for any season.
★ Another must is a boxy cropped jacket: it sits perfectly at the waist and the oversized fit is effortlessly cool.
