A warning for hackers

I recently read on the Your Horse website (www.yourhorse.co.uk) the story of a trap being left on a horse riding trail in Caerphilly, Wales. Unfortunately, I’ve had a similar experience – I came across children planting broken bottles and large glass shards into the ground on a bridle path that was built by our city council. Thankfully, I spotted them before I rode my pony over that spot. I challenged the boys, who then ran off, only to be verbally assaulted by their parents. I proceeded to point out what they’d done. Apparently their ‘well-behaved boys’ would never do such a thing. I just wish I had a hat camera! I didn’t let the experience put me off as my pony loved hacking, but it’s very sad that we can’t enjoy riding out because of people doing things like this. Laura Smith, by email
