AGOOD FLY RUG will offer your horse protection in all the places those pesky flies love, such as under his tummy. Many of them have additional features that can prevent coat bleaching and even a showerproof layer. International event rider Julia Dungworth and her groom, Sarah Duffin, have put a selection of full neck fly rugs through their paces. Each rug was assessed for its fit, effectiveness and that all-important value for money. Our testing got off to a slow start, with the British weather deciding fly rugs weren’t really needed until the end of May, but since then they’ve been thoroughly tested for three months.
