QI’m thinking of taking a riding holiday abroad by myself. Is this something that’s an option and do I need to take more precautions as a female travelling alone? Joyce Farthing, Northampton
AWe get lots of individual bookings at Ride World Wide and a riding holiday is a wonderful experience for single travellers. You’ll be joining a small group of like-minded people who all have a shared interest. They might never meet in the post office, but it’s amazing how you bond with people you might not usually speak to after a few exhilarating canters. Prices quoted are usually based on twin shared accommodation and if you book alone a supplement may be payable for a single room, although this is not always the case. Supplements are applied in different ways on different rides but single travellers are always accepted.
Solo made simple
Most of our single travellers are female. Many riding holiday companies can arrange airport transfers so you’re met on arrival and transfered (generally with other guests who’ve arrived at a similar time) to the start point of the holiday.
