THE POLES AND FUNNEL

-

This exercise helps with straightness and regulates your horse’s pace and stride length. It also engages his core, stretches his topline and activates his hind end.

Place three poles approximately a metre apart with a funnel of poles at either end to encourage straightness. You can change the distance between the poles to shorten or lengthen his frame.

?? ?? Raise one end of a pole and then gradually raise the other end of alternate poles (always raise only one end of each pole, not both).

?? ?? Walk beside your horse over the poles — do this leading him from both sides so he doesn’t get reliant on you and thinks for himself.
