BENEFIT FROM THE LATEST ADVANCES
Being a traditional university, the majority of the teaching staff have PhDs and are active in research, enabling students to benefit from the latest advances in equine science and the laboratory facilities in order to put theory into practice. The equine and veterinary bioscience degree is unique because it incorporates topics such as animal health, disease diagnosis and control and veterinary pharmacology. Recently IBERS has been involved in the thrilling launch of the first bachelor of veterinary science degrees in Wales. This new degree scheme is run in conjunction with the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, and is a big step towards bringing veterinary medicine into Wales. Students will spend their first two years in the heart of Wales, studying the biology underpinning veterinary sciences, acquiring farm animal, horse and companion animal handling and examination skills, and developing their communication, problem solving and teamworking skills.
