Compass and pencil Card Yellow wool Scissors PVA glue Scraps of orange felt Black beads for eyes 1 Use a compass to cut out two doughnut shapes from card. One doughnut should be 5cm (2in) in diameter and the other should 2.5cm (1in). Make two of each size. 2 To make a large pom pom for the chick’s body, take the two 5cm (2in) doughnut shapes and place together. Wrap the wool around the outside of the doughnut and through the hole until it’s covered. Snip the wool between the two doughnut shapes using the scissors. 3 Take a length of wool and slip it between the two doughnuts, wrap it around and tie a tight knot. Now you have your first pom pom. 4 Repeat steps two to three with the 2.5cm (1in) doughnuts. You will now have one large pom pom for the body, and one smaller one for the head. Glue them together with PVA glue. 5 Cut out a diamond shape from the orange felt for the beak. Fold in half and glue to the chick’s head. 6 Glue on two black beads to make the eyes.
