Cute cardi

I hope you are as impressed as I was with my version of the scallop-edged knit that was the free pattern in issue 262 earlier this year. Gladys Longhurst, Morayshire

Made to last

I wonder if anyone could beat this. When my husband and I were married 65 years ago this year, he attended a woodwork class and made an ironing board which I still use. It is very heavy and sturdy compared to the modern ones and I wouldn’t change it. Because of its weight and my age (89), my husband (92) helps set it up every time I do the ironing. Grace Nelson, Co Antrim

Not forgotten

On February 19, this year, it was the 25th anniversary of my dear husband’s death. And this year, just like every year for the last 25, a card dropped through my letterbox from my dear friend to say how much she was thinking about me on this sad occasion. It lifts my spirit to receive such comforting words at this difficult time. And in this mad, topsy-turvy world of today it is so pleasing to know that there are still caring, thoughtful and kind people living among us. Sarah Edwards, Wrexham
