When you inhale and exhale, does your chest rise and fall or your belly? if it’s your belly then you are breathing correctly. “people who breathe using their chests take shallow breaths and tend to be people who are more prone to nervousnes­s and anxiety,” says life coach sam sahota. “By using your belly, you are taking deep breaths which help relax and calm you. one way to learn how to breathe correctly is to place one hand on your chest and the other hand on your belly. Now take a deep breath; if your belly rises, you are breathing properly. if your chest rises, you need to practise until you are using your belly.”
