Lenci produced felt dolls and children’s items. ‘Lenci’ is an acronym from the Latin motto ‘Ludus est nobis Constanter industria’ which means ‘Play is our constant work’. in 1928 the Turin-based factory introduced a range of earthenware pottery including the figures it is renowned for today. Collectors look for the large-scale earthenware figures it made with modern women unclothed or in sporting poses and decorated with bold colours. The factory closed in 1964. This Lenci mother and daughter is valued at £1,600 to £2,000.
