Stay sun savvy

-

Most of us are pretty good when it comes to staying safe in the sun on holiday, but don’t forget to apply the same care in the UK. According to The Mole Clinic (www.themoleclinic.co.uk) just a single case of bad sunburn can double your chances of getting skin cancer, as well as making your skin age faster. Follow these sun-safe rules:

Wear a sun cream with a minimum of SPF 20 – SPF 30 is the ideal

Use at least 30ml of sun cream to cover your body (around the size of a shot glass)

Apply frequently and reapply every 2-3 hours

Apply at least 15 minutes before going outside and reapply after swimming or towelling

Try to stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm

Wear a widebrimmed hat and sunglasses
