I told my daughter I’d been buying paracetamol while out shopping and that they seemed scarcer than normal. I thought it was because of the recent announcement that prescriptions for paracetamol were costing the NHS a lot of money so people were now buying their own – 19p compared to £8.60 prescription cost. My daughter is a doctor’s receptionist and told me that lots of people, who maybe haven’t had these on prescription before, have been ringing up for them and she had to refer the request to the doctor.
