While an out-of-date yogurt or gone off milk may be easy to spot, 48,000 cases of food poisoning in the last year were caused by so-called lowrisk-offenders such as on-the-turn fruit and veg, according to the Food Standards Agency. Storing your food correctly could help to extend its shelf life and avoid a poorly tummy, as well as saving you money in the long run. If it’s been a while since you gave your cupboards and fridge a sort out, it might be time for a quick rummage.
