angela’s story…

“i was 56 when my ex-husband decided he was leaving me for another woman. it came out of the blue and i felt terrified. i never had a job while we were married and my husband had looked after all the bills, so it was a stressful time. “i went to a solicitor and we agreed on a settlement figure. i was very fortunate that i had a great support network of family and friends, but it still took me a long time to feel okay again. i did see a counsellor to help me through it. “it’s really important to meet new people so you can rebuild your life. i bought a house, joined a watercolour class, met new friends and remarried. i now enjoy a quiet life in the countryside with my dog and new husband. it was tough, but there is definitely life after divorce.”
