ENERGY Q&A
Q How much exercise should I do a week to improve my energy levels?
A Julie says: “It’s recommended that you do strengthening exercises twice a week and moderate intensity aerobic exercise for 150 minutes a week, although it can be done in ten-minute chunks at first. This includes anything that gets your heart beating faster and makes you feel warmer such as brisk walking, cycling, swimming or dancing. Exercise not only helps your heart, lungs and muscles function more efficiently, it can have psychological benefits too, such as improving your mood and confidence. “If done in a group you can reap the social rewards too and make some great new friends. All these things combined will have a positive impact on your energy levels and put a spring in your step.”
