CARERS IN TOUCH

-

Dot Cato (77) spent most of her life as a missionary in her native Zimbabwe, where most people were very poor and didn’t have access to modern technology. Two months ago Dot, who lost her husband, Brian, 47 years ago at the age of 40, moved to England to be near her niece. She soon discovered she needed to learn how to use the internet to keep up with modern life. Dot took a computer course and is now able to keep in touch with friends in South Africa and keep up with news and information. She recently joined the Yours Forget Me Not group to make some new friends, and wants to encourage other people to get online. “It’s the way forward. I was very apprehensive but, with support, I’ve learned how to use my computer and it’s opened up a whole new world. If I can do it, anyone can!”
