Cit­rus cush­ions Fun way to brighten your home Time: 1 hour Skill level: In­ter­me­di­ate Ma­te­ri­als: 2m (6½ft) fab­ric in yel­low 1m (3¼ft) fab­ric in white Fab­ric scraps in green Polyester fill­ing Fab­ric scis­sors and pins Sewing ma­chine Match­ing yarn and nee­dle

To make the cush­ion:

1 Draw two lemon shapes on the yel­low fab­ric with tailor’s chalk. Cut out, place right sides to­gether and sew. Leave a small open­ing for turn­ing and fill­ing. 2 Turn fab­ric right sides out and fill with stuff­ing. Hand sew the open­ing closed. 3 Cut two leaf shapes from the green fab­ric. Place right sides to­gether. Ma­chine around edge. Leave small gap for turn­ing. 4 Turn right side out, hand sew the open­ing and sew to the top of your lemon cush­ion.

To make the lemon slices:

1 Cut a cir­cle each from the yel­low and white fab­rics, both with 60cm (23in) di­am­e­ter. 2 Cut 5 slightly dif­fer­ent-sized tri­an­gles from the yel­low fab­ric and round the cor­ners. 3 Pin the tri­an­gles to the white fab­ric. At­tach with zigzag stitch. 4 Put the white and yel­low cir­cles to­gether, right sides fac­ing and sew, leav­ing a gap for fill­ing and turn­ing. 5 Turn right way out and stuff. Hand sew the open­ing closed.
