Your highway to the LAND OF NOD

Having a bed that supports yout through the night is a way of giving your restful sleep. Here Dr Miriam Stoppard talks about finding the right bed for you

-

We all know what an enormous difference a good night’s sleep makes to our lives. We feel recharged and ready to face whatever the world throws at us. Getting enough sleep also boosts our mood and improves memory as well as warding off a range of serious health conditions, including heart disease, obesity and diabetes. But getting a proper night’s sleep isn’t always easy. All sorts of things can keep us awake or make our nights restless, from snoring partners to joint pain, a noisy environment to hot flushes. One big – and easily remediable – factor that can disrupt sleep is what we’re sleeping on. We spend a third of our lives in bed yet many of us pay little attention to the mattress we’re trying to sleep on. Finding one that gives you the support and comfort you need is a good first step.

How do I find the right bed?

An Adjustamatic bed could be worth a try because it moulds itself precisely to fit your body, so it can adjust to your sitting, sleeping or reading position each time you lie down on it. Pain can be a deterrent to sound sleep especially as we get older. An Adjustamatic bed can maintain your body in a position of optimum rest where your muscles and joints are supported.

Adjustamatic beds come with built-in NHC Cylco-Therapy® massage technology which is designed to reduce pain and help you relax. If you’re struggling to get out of bed in the morning, the Adjustamatic bed moves you from a lying position to a sitting position at the touch of a button, helping you get up and start the day more easily. This facility is helpful if you or a loved one have a mobility problem . It also helps you stay independent.

Dr Miriam Stoppard is the health and mobility advisor for Adjustamatic. For more details on our bed-buying guide call 0800 689 9671 quoting ref ‘17YOURS1‘ or visit adjustamatic-offers.co.uk
