DAY TWO What to do

Budding historians can travel back in time with a trip to the famous Wollaton Hall, above, located three miles west of the city centre. Go behind-the-scenes on a tour of this Elizabetha­n mansion’s hidden quarters, or pay a trip to the natural history museum full of zoology, geology and botany collection­s. Set in 500 acres of spectacula­r gardens and parkland, it’s also a great spot for a picturesqu­e stroll on a crisp winter’s day. Look out for the resident deer who roam the delightful park.
