Toddler tantrums

Outbursts are part of being a pre-schooler. But the good news is – it will pass! THE SOLUTION: Ignore them! As long as they’re safe, pay them no notice. Say out loud something such as, “What a pity, I was hoping we’d have fun at the shops/park but [grandchild’s name] is being so noisy they might upset someone.”

If you’re out and about, either calmly scoop them up and say, “Your behaviour is telling me it’s time to go home,” or step away while keeping a close eye on them

to make sure they’re OK.
