3 WAYS WITH OLD PLASTIC BAGS

-

1

Cut holes in the bottom of two bags and tie around your knees to protect your trousers while gardening.

2

Stuff an old pillowcase with plastic bags and sew up the end for a makeshift cushion.

3

Make a skipping rope for the grandchildren: Cut several bags open and cut off handles so you’re left with flat rectangles of plastic. Cut each into long strips and start tying together strips in knots to the length you want the rope to be.

■ Braid a minimum of three strip lengths together, tying the end to the back of a chair.

■ Tape the ends with duct tape to make a handle.
