My eyesight was saved
I hope the letter from Mrs Short (issue 285) about an eye problem called Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) will help someone. A week before I saw her letter I had all the symptoms she described (the top of my head feeling tender, headaches, ear, jaw and temple pain and finding eating painful). I went to A&E and a blood test showed up GCA. I was given steroids the same day and this has saved my eyesight. I have been very lucky and I hope others with any of these symptoms will get them checked.
