Meet Ms Heather -

-

Ms Heather is a passionate Latin and Ballroom dancer at the age of 71...

“Unfortunately, I was forced to give up dancing as I just didn’t have time for a full-time job, running a home and visiting my elderly parents. Something had to give.

“After 20 years had passed, I thought I was too old, but five years ago, I joined my local community dance group, then a Latin and Ballroom dance school. I intended to go for a bit of fun but I got hooked and started competing. “Competitive Latin and Ballroom is incredibly expensive. I had put a lump sum aside from my pension to pay for it, but about a year ago the money had more or less gone. I had to make a decision: either give up dancing or find another way to fund it. So I decided to look into equity release.

“I needed to feel confident about what I was getting into, what it meant for me in the future and that my home was indeed my home. I needed that peace of mind. Key gave me that. My adviser was excellent and explained everything very clearly.”

Ms Heather used the money released from her home to support her dancing. It has allowed her to take advantage of some amazing opportunities, including competing in Malta, Barcelona, Ukraine, Las Vegas and New York among many other international competitions. “It’s almost like a childhood dream come true. It’s fun, it’s rewarding and I’ve made so many new friends from all around the world. It has been lifechanging – and I couldn’t have done it without equity release.”
