Q As my mum’s carer, I often find it difficult to make sure she is drinking enough fluids. Is there an easy way I can ensure she’s properly hydrated? H Morgan, by email Yours says The Droplet Hydration Aid mug is used in many hospitals and care homes. It comes in three parts and is programmed to prompt the user with flashing lights and recorded messages. The lightweight cup and tumbler have discreet measuring lines, allowing you to record their intake. The lid has a spout and holes for straws.

■ Available from www. Amazon.co.uk. Rrp £45 Q I found the perfect dress for a special occasion but when I got it home I realised it gaped open at the front. What can I do? Fiona Jones, Hull Yours says For a more glamorous solution than a safety pin, Blouse Buttons are made with Swarovski crystals or pearls and come in a silver or gold tone setting. Pierce the pin through clothing and fasten the clasp at the back.

Hayley Wilson, by email Yours says While these are yet to be sold in shops in the UK, a New Zealand company has been manufacturing SlipOn swimsuits for some years. Sufferers of arthritis, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, or those who are plus size, have found these to be of benefit. The top part of the swimsuit wraps around and secures with double

Velcro, making it easy to put on and remove. Q I have recently rehomed an older dog who is sociable and calm.

I’d like to see if we can volunteer by visiting care homes – how do I go about this?

Christine Johnson, Manchester Yours says All breeds of dog can become part of the Pets As Therapy (PAT) Team. Once you have had your dog for more than six months, you can ask for an application pack. Your pooch will then need to pass the temperament assessment and be fully vaccinated to become a therapy dog.

Yours says Most toiletries will have a small open jar symbol on the back labelled with 6M or 12M. This means you should use the product within six or 12 months of opening to ensure it’s still effective.

Q I have some old skincare that I opened long ago. Should I keep it or throw it away? Diane Ratcliff, Bedfordshire
