Win the chance to see your short story in print!

Are you a keen writer with a genius idea for a short story up your sleeve? If you think you can spin a pageturning yarn that Yours readers would enjoy when they put their feet up with a cuppa, we are inviting you to take part in our brand new short story competition. This is your chance to see your story published in the Yours Fiction Special. The best three story writers will also each receive a cheque for £50.

We are looking for stories from 500 to 1,500 words long – they can be any genre but we’d particularly love to receive stories that fit the categories of: Mystery, Romance, Nostalgia, Thriller or Historical Saga. Most important, though, is that they have a gripping opening, an absorbing plot with a bit of a twist and a satisfying conclusion. We’re not too worried about perfect grammar or spelling but we are looking for original, inspired fiction that will have us – and our readers – hooked.

Entries must be typed and clearly marked ‘Short Story Competition’ and either emailed to yours@bauermedia.co.uk or posted to Yours Fiction Editor, Media House, Peterborough PE2 6EA. Remember to include your name, full postal address and either a phone number or email contact address. Deadline for entries is April 15, 2019. Hurry – we can’t wait to read them!
