These three little crocheted mice are perfect for using up small amounts of wool
YARN AND MATERIALS
Part ball of Debbie Bliss Rialto DK (light worsted) weight yarn in either:
For Mouse 1: shade 66 Vintage Pink
Mouse 2: shade 54 Mint Mouse 3: shade 99 Mustard Small amount of white felt for the nose
White embroidery thread for the whiskers
Pair safety eyes Stuffing
HOOKS AND EQUIPMENT 4mm (UK size 8) crochet hook Yarn needle
Sewing needle
TENSION
Exact tension is not essential for this project, just adjust the hook size if necessary to give you a firm finish.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approx 5cm (2in) tall
BEFORE YOU BEGIN…. Ch-chain; dc-double crochet; dc2togdouble crochet 2 stitches together; rep-repeat; ss-slip stitch; st(s)-stitch(es)
BODY
Make 2ch.
Round 1: 6dc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: 2dc in each st. (12 sts).
Round 3: *1dc in next st, 2dc in next st; rep from * to end. (18 sts)
Round 4: *1dc in each of next 2 sts, 2dc in next st; rep from * to end. (24 sts) Round 5: *1dc in each of next 3 sts, 2dc in next st; rep from * to end. (30 sts) Round 6: *1dc in each of next 4 sts, 2dc in next st; rep from * to end. (36 sts) Rounds 7-14: 1dc in each st. Round 15: *1dc in each of next 4 sts, dc2tog; rep from * to end. (30 sts)
Round 16: *1dc in each of next 3 sts, dc2tog; rep from * to end. (24 sts)
Round 17: 1dc in each st. Round 18: *1dc in each of next 2 sts, dc2tog; rep from * to end. (18 sts)
Round 19: 1dc in each st. Round 20: *1dc in next st, dc2tog; rep from * to end. (12 sts)
Insert eyes and secure.
Stuff body.
Rounds 21-22: 1dc in each st. Round 23: *Miss 1 st, 1dc in next st; rep from * until opening is closed. Fasten off.
EARS (make 2)
Make 2ch.
Round 1: 6dc in second st from hook.
Round 2: 2dc in each st. (12 sts)
Round 3: 1dc in each st. Fasten off.
TAIL
Make 20ch, turn, ss in each ch. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew ears on behind eyes.
Sew small triangle of white felt at end of muzzle for the nose.
Using white embroidery thread (floss) sew 3 long stitches each side of the nose for whiskers.
Pin and sew tail to body. Sew on eyes.
*Due to small parts, this patttern is not suitable for children under the age of three. Stitched eyes would make it suitable for younger children.
