A few weeks ago we asked you to tell us about friends, family or someone you know who is working on the frontline during the current Covid-19 crisis so we could honour them in the magazine.

We are all so grateful to the key workers, from health and care home workers to supermarket staff, refuse collectors and posties who have helped keep our country running over the last few months. Below are just some of the amazing people you have told us about.

Both my sons own convenience stores: Andrew, in Weobley, Herefordshire and Philip in Exmouth, Devon. They both deliver groceries to their customers. Philip has always done this and Andrew has started to do it for his elderly customers.

I am so proud of them both and their staff.

I live in a complex of 157 flats for retirees. We had a new undermanager called Sarah start just a few weeks before the lockdown as our usual manager had underlying health problems and had to leave us. Sarah has been an absolute godsend. She has put herself out to take care of us by shopping and helping with our medication needs. Thank you so much Sarah from all of us. Josephine Nairn, name and address supplied

I would like to tell you about one of my best friends, Annette Downe, a senior nurse and specialist in Epidermolysis bullosa (EB). This photo (right) was taken after she worked a 12-hour day. She has been trained up to work in the ICU unit at St Thomas’ Hospital, London and is doing such an amazing job! She’s caring, loving and so calm in these situations and I’m so proud to call her my friend. She’s really amazing and is a credit to the NHS.

Our daughter, Deb Greensmith (below), has worked at Station House care home in Crewe for 15 years and has been a carer for 30 years. Our granddaughter, Isla Newall (below), who is Deb’s niece, joined the team last year. Both do a brilliant job and are well thought of. They are working so hard during these difficult times, but they always work hard anyway. Love them so much and immensely proud of them.
