ooking at old holiday snaps is good for you! According to the American National Institutes of Health, using prompts such as photos to reminiscen­ce about past experience­s can be very therapeuti­c and do wonders for our wellbeing.

Research shows that getting family and friends involved in scrapbooki­ng can be a great way to help curb feelings of isolation too, whether you collaborat­e digitally or send them the finished article in the post. Scrapbooki­ng is all about creating something unique and personal to you. All you need are your

photos and a little creativity!

Old-school scrapbook

Few pastimes are more meditative than creating your own scrapbook. To get started, consider the layout for each page and think about how you want to organise them – such as by date, destinatio­n or activity.

Play around with the look before you attach the images and leave space between them so you can layer and add extra elements. Once you are happy with your layout, stick them down and add words, quotes or dates. Postcards, tickets, maps and other travel souvenirs can be added for extra interest.

Ask friends and family to send you photos by post or email, or if you are confident using social sites such as Facebook or WhatsApp, you can find and download your tagged photos from there
